 Couples Therapy

Life can get very busy and overwhelming at times and focus on your romantic relationship may take a backseat. Couples therapy provides the space and time for you to reflect on your relationship and make meaningful change. Through couples therapy, couples work to accomplish many goals, including:

- Develop communication skills and foster a secure communication environment

- Regain/redefine intimacy and sex

- Understand and reduce conflict

- Navigate major life transitions (fertility, empty nesters, aging in-laws, new employment status, etc.)

- Work through and address unmet relationship needs

- Growth towards a collaborative future

- Find additional support when life gets hard (including financial struggles, medical diagnosis of self or loved one, etc.)

Premarital Therapy

Now that you have decided to make a long term commitment, whether signaled by a formal wedding or a private verbal agreement between partners, premarital therapy is a space to collaboratively plan for the future. In premarital therapy, couples commonly explore the following themes:

- Communication and conflict management skills

- Determine roles and responsibilities

- Parenthood/children

- Long-term care for aging parents

- Financial planning and financial goals

- Core values and beliefs

 Individual Therapy

The potential benefits and uses of individual therapy are vast. Whether you are looking for a space to process and understand your holistic experience in the world or looking to address something very specific in your life, individual therapy can provide the tools and space to help you understand and take control. Some of the areas clients find support for in therapy include:

- Find relief from symptoms of anxiety and/or depression

- Work through and process trauma

- Empowerment, self-confidence, self-esteem and self-worth

- Prepare for and enact change during life transitions

- Explore intimacy with your self and manage self-care

Adult Family Therapy

The impact of the relationships with our family members (parents, siblings, grandparents, children, etc.) continue to affect us throughout our lives. Long standing family patterns can be hard to break out of potentially leading to negative experiences. When an issue stems from these relationships, individual therapy can only bring you so far. By addressing some of these patterns with your family members in the room, long-lasting change can occur. In family therapy, families can resolve and repair the following:

- Process past events and traumas

- Replace conflicted communication patterns

- Make decisions and plan for the future

- Redefine unwanted/negative individual roles and stereotypes in the family
